Happily ever after?

Or happily for a while?

In the wait for your forever love, if you got the chance to experience the whole nine yards- the butterflies, the romance, hand holding and warm hugs, being eight feet away and your eyes somehow find their way to each other, the assuring hugs, the ego trip of being chosen by this person, the travel and adventure,getting to know each other.

If you were given the chance to experience it temporarily. You know it is only for a limited duration from the outset but you still go ahead with it. The past few years have gone by uneventfully anyway and nothing happened for you in that time. So why not take this chance, however fleeting.

Will the memories of those short-lived romances be enough to tide you over till you get your one true love.

Maybe that lasting love is worth the wait. Worth sacrificing temporary happiness for. Worth being alone for. Worth finding yourself for.

If it’s not ‘the one’ then I do not want it.

Or ‘the one’ for three months or a year or a few weeks are all precursors for your one true love.

Maybe you need the John the Baptist for your savior to arrive.
