Dating : Blessing

“Have you forgotten?” She asked.

He turned and tilted his head. Looking for an answer from the corner of that woman’s eyes — who’s silently watching his gestures.

“Not… sure. But, I actually have no clues what did you mean.” He answered.

She chuckled, even though her eyes were still staring blankly at the basketball court filled with many lasses and lads who were busy playing .

“Remember when I was crying here?”

He nodded. A tiny smile arised on his face. He surely won’t forget that moment when he was tired after his boss scolded him for a day and he met her whilst he was busy vent out his enrage alone, two years ago.

“You were mad at something and kicked that thick tree, though I was sure you know it’d be vain to spill out your anger at them.”

He cackled, his fingers were leisurely running to brush her hair, “I know.”

She beamed a little before turned around and looked at him in silence, “You saved me at that time.”

He flustered whereas she seemed pleased with his sudden change in facial expressions.

“I was doing nothing, except foolishly hurting both of my feet.” He said.

“No, not that part.” Her smile is getting wider as she leaned on his shoulder, looking at the ground where their feet were there next to each others.

“Then, what did I do?”

She took a while before gave him a short answer, an answer which made her feel at ease also made him shocked and dismayed.

“You know, I was nearly give up, but you came and saved me while I was almost doing that.”

His throat felt dry, his eyes teared up gradually. He remembered. He knew. The sad eyes who were laughing at him who got hurt after did something silly back then. The scream which seek for a help her eyes told while her smile was showings. But, he chose to pretend not to know. He never had a courage to ask why those eyes looked so blue, he was too busy to think how to make it looks brighter. Her vague behavior caught his eyes. Or he might be just scared of losing her sight even if he never meant to torture her.

There’s no way he’d be forgotten all of that pain she had been holding on.

A sound of gulping heard from him. The strong desire to ask her was practically getting heavier, but he couldn’t put it into words. They’ve been living together — side to side, for two years already. However, he had been sticking as a coward and never bothered with it anymore. Until today.

How to stringing questions?

How to ask her without open an old wound she had?

“I was barely living. I had nobody who’s grateful to have me, neither someone who think of me as a blessing. They left me anyway. That’s why I was crying.”

Her voice was wavering as she spoken out the answer he wanted to know.

He closed his eyes tight as a heavy guilt spreaded to the entire surface of his heart, leaving him speechless.

The sun began to set, showed them a reflection of the moon which began to crawl up the night sky. The sound of wind breezes was increasingly heard while the two of them were still sitting down quietly — lost in thoughts.

“Thank you for sharing it with me.” He finally looked at her on the eyes after a couple minutes got choked up.

They looked at each other silently, tried to read each other’s minds.

A thousand feeling he expressed through his rounded-shape eyes succeeded making her cry in ecstasy, after a few seconds of they exchanged gaze to one and another.

“Also, thank you for listening to my arbitrary advices. Never did I ever forgotten when I told you that you are a blessing.

For me, who was lugubriously unleashed my anger and got embarrassed seeing your tearful laugh.

For me, who was rarely had any solemn in every speeches, advices or opinions I told you, unless it was needed.

For me, who was just hoping you’d feel at ease without demanding your whys and whats.

For me, who was just waiting for you to tell me wholly, although I need to wait for two years.”

He let out a heavy sigh.

“Is it worth to wait?”

He forced his smile and nodded at her, “Yes. Absolutely.”

She tightened up their interlock hands — where he grabbed her a little while ago, giving a thank you letter throughout their warmth to him.

“Glad I chose to continue living.” She whispered.
