Dating : Do You Have A Role Model?

The Roman philosopher Seneca once said: ‘There is the need for someone against which our characters can measure themselves. Without a ruler, you won’t make crooked straight.’

Can I ask you a question, out of curiosity?

‘During the many years you’ve spent on this earth, who has taught you the most beautiful lessons in life?’

Perhaps, it may be your father. Your mother. Your high school History teacher. The kind stranger who picked up your wallet and handed it to you after you dropped it on the sidewalk.

Whoever that person is, watch them closely. Pay attention to the positive lessons that they teach you. Their lessons can harden you for the battle ahead; the long battle we call life.

The wise and good lessons we receive from those around us are friendly reminders that can put us back on the straight and narrow whenever we lose our path.

Me? I learn my lessons from a friend I call Jesus. On this spiritual journey, I march calmly to the word of God.

No matter what happens tomorrow or the day after, I know I can never stray too far away from my beliefs when I march shoulder to shoulder with Jesus.

Patience, humility, love — my friendship with Christ only strengthens these ideals.

I know I can find a home in Jesus.

I know not to fear the storm, for he holds it in his hands.

I know to do things that please God.

In my life, I have created a focal point that revolves around this man, Jesus.

Where do you receive your lessons from in life? Who is your positive role model? Watch what they do and do the same.
