You Can Do Anything You Put Your Mind Too

Since I got back into writing in a journal, I’ve been wanting to look up ways to add pockets in the back and/or front of my journal. You know to hold all the loose pieces of paper you tend to carry along with you.

So finally I googled how to make a pocket for the inside of your journal last night. I clicked on one of the videos that seemed easy and didn’t require a lot of steps. As well as a pocket that looked similar or close to what I imagined in my head that I wanted.

You got to love Google. Seems like Google has everything. I found everything in one video that I hoped for.

The steps were easy to follow. I had a pocket cut out and ready to go in less than 5 minutes. I was super happy. I can be a crafty person when I want to be.

I did, however, have issues with gluing. I was nervous I was going to mess it up and ruin it. So before gluing, I traced what I had cut out just in case. If I succeeded then I would just use it for a front pocket, maybe. This way I have a pocket in the front and back of my journal.

Anyway, I got the pocket glued to the back of my journal finally. I realized all my negative thinking was for nothing. I simply proved to myself that I can do anything that I put my mind to.

As the pocket was drying. I was filled with happiness and excitement. I know weird, right?

I love my journal. I love writing. Carrying my journal gives me a sense of comfort. I’m easily able to grab it out of my bag when inspiration hits.

As the pocket was drying, I noticed that the inside paper covering was coming off. My heart was breaking. I thought I ruined my journal. The journal that has been my best friend since my friend gave it to me as a birthday gift.

Before I panicked. I looked at how it was glued and inspected it to see if it was fixable. Once I saw that it could be very easily fixed I had a huge grin on my face. I felt myself take a deep breath. Like a sigh of relief.

I added some glue and gently tried to smooth all the bubbles out I could.

Once it was dried. I could see it wasn’t a 100% smooth like it was before. But hey it’s not coming off anymore. So now I’m back to being one happy chick.

The pocket came out wonderful. It holds all my little notes. so no more loose pieces of paper falling out of this journal.

Now to decide if I would like to add a front pocket or not.
