Dating : enough

h2>Dating : enough

moumita.writes

Grace could never love my clumsy legs,
and tact cowers from this impetuous mouth.
My crooked smile and feral hair
isn’t the stuff of sinful ballads.
No mammoth sea croons to you
from these muddy brown eyes.
My words will not ebb you to peace
or tow you to ruin.
Really, this humdrum home dangles
from sickly thread of praise
or some days, even disdain.

But we will tread lightly. this I promise.
I can show you the cliffs and canyons
I’ve mapped in blood and muck
if ever we stray, from here.
I’ve seen where the berries grow.
When the dogs come,
I will be kind. I will growl louder.
And if one morning,
you want to be someone new,
I will not laugh.
I will always welcome you.
