Dating : He grew me. He changed me.

I love me

Cheridan Smith

My first love grew me.

Developed me. Helped me plant my roots.

Gave me freedom to sprout up and colored my leaves throughout the seasons.

He grew my passions. My hopes. My dreams. Our roots will forever be intertwined.

My second love changed me.

Manipulated me. Dug my roots out from the ground and crushed them. Stomped all over me. Made me question if I ever really even had roots. He changed the way I grow. He changed the way I see.

He gave me a voice. To speak my truth. To write. To dream. To stand alone and proud and tall. We will forever be intertwined. As much as I wish it wasn’t so.

We all have those loves that grow us and that change us. That make us see, and then those that blind us.

Now I’m planting my own roots on my own feet.

Simply swaying, sprinkling seeds.

I’m not married to a place. Or married to my roots. I’m married to freedom. Travel. Discovery. I’m married to hope.

Wander away when you feel yourself tied down by a single root.

We are made up of more than a single place or a single person. We have the whole world inside us.

Grow and go. With grace.
