I.

I will watch most anything featuring a horse,

And if there’s a dog, I’ll click right on the trailer.

If there’s an old white farmhouse in the background

Then I’ve found the trifecta, which can be enhanced

Only by stormy weather, or second-chance love.

II.

I hate a southern accent but will make an exception

If the lead male actor floats my boat, but I will not watch

To the end, if the horse dies — or the dog.

I find it very satisfying when things come together,

And the old, white farmhouse gets a fresh coat of white paint.

III.

I find it desirable if the couple falls in love and drives away,

Pulling the horse in a trailer behind a beat-up but serviceable pickup,

With the dog sitting between them on the bench seat.

Sometimes, you need to leave to find what you want,

But first, go back, just once, and find your lost love.
