More and more, companies are using flex schedules and remote workers to get the most out of their employees and freelance associates.

It seems like every time you open an email; someone asks you to join their Slack cooperative. I have dozens of Slack and Wrike teams. Occasionally, I have to subcontract writing and editing assignments when I take on too much, and being able to communicate with them quickly and assign tasks is crucial.

I’ve found that using Wrike to assign tasks and set deadlines is perfect and using Slack as a communication tool is ideal. However, integrating workflow across apps was at times challenging until I found Okta Workflow.

Cloud storage is the most sensible and logical method of storing and sharing documents. You can save an assignment or project on Dropbox or Google Drive, and give read and edit permissions to your team members or friends. The same is possible with Google Docs and multiple other apps.

How Do to Facilitate Member App Use More Efficiently?

There are dozens of apps out there to help facilitate work. Team supervisors need a solution to ensure app integration across teams.

If some are using their favorite storage app, like Dropbox (DB), for instance, while others are using Google Drive, Mega, or OneDrive, how do we ensure inoperability?

These are all excellent storage apps, but if John is writing and storing an article on DB that Sarah and other team members might need to edit, they will need access. And John will need to know about the changes made without having to chase down whoever made the changes.

You will need something to connect anywhere from a dozen to possibly 200 or more apps. We’re talking about storage, communications, task delegation at multiple levels, possible task collaboration, and many other management innovations all working together seamlessly.

Some of these tasks are already being used in an office environment where it is easy to walk an assignment over to the next cubicle or collaborator. For this system to work online, after you have completed your portion, or even while it is ongoing, automatic multi-level tasks must get saved and integrated without disrupting someone else’s portion, or worse yet, deleting or overwriting it.

How does app integration work?

According to Techopedia, “Application integration is often a difficult process, especially when integrating existing legacy applications with new applications or Web services.”

Legacy apps are older, often obsolete apps that still work, but are not compatible with new apps. Programming code might need to be inserted into the integration app or middleware used to link the apps, but that is seamless for the user with Okta Workflow.

However, the generic principle of integrating applications to function smoothly between users requires the software to identify and link apps, even older versions quickly.

People want a “Swiss Army Knife” that works with the apps they are already using, are familiar with, and want to keep using. There are many apps available that perform the same task; they tire of having to use a different app because the new admin or supervisor “likes it.”

What’s the Solution?

When forced to use a new app to do the same project or function, they already have an app for, they get frustrated because they have to learn how to use the new app.

Application integration eliminates the learning curve by allowing team members to continue using the app their familiar with by making it compatible with other applications used by team members.

When a large variety of applications work together smoothly, there is no need for admins to direct team members to switch. Likewise, there is no need to poll the masses to discover what the majority is using to decide if everyone can easily use that.

Some of the tasks you can accomplish with Okta are:

It is possible to transfer tasks even in the middle of a project when someone gets ill or quits.
