h2>Dating : It shouldn’t be.
It shouldn’t be. But so often it becomes one. ’Cause there are so many spheres in which that can happen.
I’m 55 years old and I’ve dated quite a number of women in my life. I’ve only had two long term relationships that actually had no component of competition. One was with my late wife. The other was the current “most important woman in my world”.
The thing is, I’ve always dated “above my pay grade”. Either they made more money, had more education and/or were in better physical shape. That never mattered to me. But it mattered to every woman except my wife and this latest whole human.
In the end, it’s all about emotional maturity. If both partners don’t possess it in the beginning, then there needs to be a whole bunch of growth in that sphere or things will never work out. It’s emotional maturity that allows one to accept themselves, as they are, enough to be open to all the gifts another soul can bring into their lives.
