Dating : Love on the Path

Love struggles on the path sometimes.
When she first stepped out it was so easy —
broad paths,
musical waters,
beams from Heaven,
and her light heart so full
it set her feet to dancing
and lifted song from her lips.

But nighttime falls
and the broad path is lost.
Mournful pools,
moon’s mocking glow,
no way ahead…
And her heavy heart so empty
her feet grow sore
and howls of wolves drown music.

Love wants to turn back,
but she won’t turn back —
tomorrow calls,
singing mildly,
and dawn is breaking.
She won’t turn back,
for she knows she’ll dance again.
For she knows she’ll sing again.
