h2>Dating : Loves Broken Promises
A poem of heartbreak.
The envy of it all, the torment.
The silent tears, the unheard whispers.
The shattered glass, the bleeding heart.
The begging of affection,
the remorse, the forgotten.
The wanting of love, of attention
and the cry of fear.
You never asked me how I was
or how was my day?
You never bought me flowers
or took me on expensive dinners.
You never called for me
or looked for me.
You never missed me.
You left me to cry alone.
You left me alone.
You told me that you loved me
but gave me love’s broken promises.
All you gave me was,
“I love you when I need you”
not the “I love you because I want you”.
You left me to fend for myself
always looked the other way.
Never took heed of my troubles.
You always gave me an empty plate
and pushed me away to only
pull me back when you wanted me.
You never wanted me for me
or the person I am.
You wanted me so you can steal from me
You gave me all of love’s broken promises.
