Dating : Run

She runs. She hates running, but she does it all the time. She runs from everything — her problems, her family, her friends, and her life. She regrets running after she’s far away, but she just can’t seem to stop. Once the stress gets too much, she just blanks out and runs. She’s gone, like the wind and other free things that she wishes she is.

When she was younger, she used to stand up to her problems. But her friends saw that she faced her problems, and asked for help with their problems. She grew pressured, but she didn’t want to be a bad friend. They helped her, as well, so the relationships weren’t completely unhealthy, but it really wasn’t fair to her.

Once her family saw that she was good at solving her problems, they wanted help too. First her sister, then her cousin, and then — when she became older — her parents, aunts, uncles, and other cousins. She seemed to live a perfect, rich life, and so her family wanted some of those riches to go to them.

But eventually, she had too many problems. She turned to different vices, but all of them caused more problems. Drinking just made her forget for a little while, but the problems all came back in full force or worse, being delayed by a night. Drugs were too dangerous for her to indulge in. She tried to procrastinate or take breaks, but she always got too stressed.

One day, she almost had a panic attack, and ran away. While she ran, she felt so free. After she ran, she regretted it, but the seeds of her new habit were planted. From then on, whenever life was too much, she ran from her problems.

She runs. She can manage most of her problems, and yet she still runs away from them from time to time. She runs from her problems, but they always chase her down. She can’t get away, yet she tries to escape. She wonders why she can’t face down her problems like she used to, but the thought of doing so gives her anxiety.

She runs from her problems, and they, in turn, chase her. She’s gotten better at running away, but no matter how good she gets, they eventually catch up to her. She wishes that this cycle wouldn’t continue, but she has no way to stop. And so she runs.
