Getting readers and responses is not easy

Although I know we are not “real” friends and we will most likely NEVER meet in person, I want to say thank you to those who respond to anything I write on Medium. Whether you agree with me or not, I appreciate you for reading and giving your comments. I am grateful to you.

A lot of what I have had published on Medium has been about politics. I have been involved in politics in some form or fashion for decades. I know it is something that is necessary in our lives. Elected officials are important in the form of government we have in the United States. Most are honorable people who want to serve their fellowmen. I have personally met many of them and can vouch for them. They do not all fit that mold, but most are doing the best they can.

There is always a lot of hate in politics. Unfortunately, that has been the case forever. People can sometimes agree to disagree. They can get along as friends even though they are on opposing sides of most issues. That is not the case in politics today. There is so much hate and vitriol coming from both sides of the aisle. One party neither has nor controls all the hate. It is all too evident in all areas of government and politics.

The Medium responses I have seen indicate that people can disagree and still be kind. They can state their views without expressing hate.

I have found most Medium readers and respondents to be regular people who are concerned with life and society. They are caring and concerned about the state of the nation. Although they don’t agree politically, they would like to see unity instead of division in the country.

There are not enough people like that, and hate exists in abundance. Hopefully, we can all be more loving and accepting so that we can get along.
