We’re in a generation where we date and see people on a more casual basis. No long commitments, no strings attached. Bleh.

It’s kind of cool though, because we can be free from anything that keeps us committed and stuck to one person.

Validating each other’s company and behaviour is a healthy trait.

Another study I found online says,

« Validation is a way to increase intimacy and emotional closeness. Couples who communicate using validating language are more likely to have higher relationship satisfaction, feel more supported, and better manage their emotions. »

However, things go downfall when we START DATING ONLY FOR VALIDATION.

As we move towards a more honest and authentic approach, we’re often found dating people for validation. Most of the people I’ve heard dating advice from, have spoken about how validation of your emotions and behaviours, becomes an integral part of a relationship.

Quick dating and casual relationships provide temporary support, but probably leave us more dependent on our partners. Since we date to feel better about ourselves, we forget that dating is about equally building yourself better.

We need to learn how to respect our choices, feelings and behaviour, for ourselves first. Validate your own self.
Own who you want to be. Own your past, present and take responsibility for your future.

Because in the end, the more dependent we are on someone else- to make us feel better- the more broken/ incomplete it will leave us.

Everything starts from the self. How we treat ourselves is how the world will.
