h2>Dating : Why do I love Christmas?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 🎼
Is it? Do you enjoy Christmas?
I do. I love it a lot.
My Christmas Story
For some reason, I’ve always loved Christmas. The whole thing about it. The food, the carols, the warmth, the spirit…
When I was a kid I remember finding my presents under my bed on Christmas morning. Weird, right? I come from a religious family and my parents were never into Christmas decorations. Trees, lights, snowglobes, Santa Claus. This was not very encouraged in my house and that’s fine. I still loved it.
When I lost my father we moved back to my grandparent’s house, my mom, my older brother, and me. My mother’s sister was still single and she’s always loved Christmas. She did the whole thing. Christmas tree, lights, snow things…
Growing up
When I got older I really started to love music more and more. Some of the things that I like the most are Christmas songs. I am addicted to it.
I make annual playlists to listen to during November and December. There’s something about those songs that is magical. Even though there’s no snow here in Brazil and it’s really hot during Christmas, I can still feel the warmth of this time.
I don’t get why some people don’t like Christmas. I understand that it’s a religious holiday but isn’t it nice to be closer to people you love, or feeling more positive and caring at least once a year? I think that ought to be universal.
Christmas today
I got married last year and for the first time, I was able to have my own Christmas decoration, a tree, a bunch of lights, mistletoe, the whole package. My wife is in charge of making the house beautiful and cozy, I’m just her assistant.
This year is gonna be different because of the pandemic we’re facing but we can still share some love and care. If you’re not very fond of this holiday, try something different this year. You don’t have to sing Christmas carols or do the whole Santa Claus routine. Just spread some love.
Why do I love Christmas?
Because people tend to be less egoist, more caring, and full of love. God knows we are in need of it now more than ever.
It also stands for celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. I know that’s very personal for each one but that’s one of my reasons. Someone that diminished himself to a man even though He was God. He did it all for us.
If you don’t believe it, it’s okay. That doesn’t mean He does not love you too.
