Dating : Witness words

Julie

When I am out and about I love people watching. I love hustle and bustle and I love all the noise and chit chat. I love the outfits and styles. The way people walk and twitch and itch.

Today I whitnessed this.

A Mum with her boys in front of me. She had a look that was distinct to me, and I thought she looked quite kooky. Big bulky earrings, hair shoved on top, the bottom bit shaved to give the look of an edgy yob. As I walks right past em tho she opens her big gob.

“Shut your mouth”, she screams, right at her eldest boy. (He only asked politely if he could go and buy a toy). “We’re here shopping for shoes for me” she barks as I walk by, and at this point I catch a sorry look in the boys eye. She barks again, “we’re buying none of your stupid shit”

I looked at her with calm, a reaction she did not expect to get. “Awww” I said to the lad who was my side while I passed. He heard my sorrow, and he probably felt it too. I walked on by, he saw I’d put my hand upon my heart. He looked again and understood, I’d confirmed it wasn’t right. His gaze was asking for help. What do you do when you know for that poor lad…there probably is none. These things she did were only words.

I hope I gave him hope at least.
