POF : Being left on read
I just started using this site. I’ve noticed I get called out a lot for leaving people in “read”. Is this a common thing?
What answer do you want from me? “I don’t think we’d be match, you’re not my type, etc”

Judging by the post I am assuming you are a female, or a really hot guy, lol. I guess when people are calling you out on that, they feel like their ego have been hurt. Why is it bothering you, if it is?
I didnt even know that was an option to know if someone read your message or not. If someone messages you and you dont want to reply or talk to them at all…..just block them. it will keep them from coming back and sending asshole messages like this
Them calling you out when you don’t answer (because you’re not interested) is **their** problem, not yours.
Don’t put more mental energy into it than is needed. Block them if they can’t take a simple rejection. Then maybe they’ll learn what a no reply means without forcing the other person to spell it out. All it shows is that they think they’re entitled to a response because they reached out first. Nah, you’re entitled to nothing from anyone at this stage in online dating.
Of course, in a perfect world it would be nice to be able to send a “thanks but, no thanks,” and know that you’d get a just as respectful response back ending things. Unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world.
If you delete the message after reading, it will show on their side « Read deleted ». Maybe that will be better. Although I really hate how a lot of women on POF won’t even respond one word back to men. You can ask any short question to 100 women, and only get 1 response. I could see something on one of their profile photos and ask them about it, and no response. Why be on a dating site, if you wont respond to people? Perhaps POF needs to consider blurring out the photos like other dating sites and forcing people to pay monthly rates to chat and talk to people.
If you open up a message and tap the 3 dots in the top right corner, you’ll have the option to block the sender, so they can no longer message you. Why don’t more POF users know about this?
