POF : Crazy dude was creeping on my social media and was generally crazy

The first time around on POF this guy from NC messaged me and we seemed to hit it off. Mind you, I live in CA. I think he searched asian women and found me in his search, otherwise I dunno how he found me. I’m 22 and he is 32. Asian girls beware. We had a lot in common and exchanged phone numbers. 4 days later I post a pretty pic of myself on my Instagram and he calls me sounding estranged, then he says he’s been looking at all my social media from day 1. He says he saw my IG post from that day and was pissed, saying I was posting it for other guys’ attention and not him, since he isn’t following me. I told him I just like to show off. Dude went insane because of it.

We decided to cut contact after a mean exchange of words to eachother. Has this happened to anyone else? Do y’all creep on potential mates? Do you give a flub if someone is active on their social media?

  1. Might put a limit on age and distance in your mail settings so all they’ll get is they can’t contact you and select someone else.

Unless you’re into age differences and willing to travel that will be the downside.

  2. Wow, yeah, definitely keep yourself safe from those creeps.

I think women should protect their social media and identity better by having separate pictures. It’s a bit of work, but it’s a good safety net to prevent reverse image search.

I saw one POF profile where the lady posted her instagram. I checked it out and saw that every one of her picture was commented by this obese guy working as a security guard saying how she was sexy and wanting to feel her up. That’s really creepy stuff. I can imagine that any online dating will be full of creeps.

  3. Some of the female profiles on POF are definitely fake, so if I have any suspicions I do a reverse image search. I’ve found a few people that way who were either catfishing me, or they were part time models for stock photography. I’ve not been as nutty as searching for them on IG or FB or anything.

I agree with the other people saying age and distance aren’t the issue here, this chap just sounds like a straight up creep.

  4. both of u must be pretty desperate to bother chatting with each other when you guys live so far away from one another. I’m guessing you (OP) don’t get many messages from desirable guys near your area?
