This is one of my pet peeves. And trust me men do it too and it drives me crazy
They’re the types who will message you if you’re attractive but generally ignore you otherwise
Rule of thumb: if they are too lazy to make a legitimate bio, they are too lazy to actually maintain a relationship
My go to in this situation is either « hey, may I ask what your name is? » Or « hi, have you lived around here for long? »
Let’s make a dating site where there are rules..like you can’t say just that ..it has to be at least 200 characters otherwise you can’t register.
Another one would be a AI that doesn’t let you upload filter pics or dick pics
Also first message can’t be hey..has to be at least 150 characters..
And the site could be split in two..
First button would be « I don’t know what I want » and other one would be « I am serious about it » and that’s where all the rules apply.
Imagine a conversation with this person in real life. They are doing you a favor.
The real question is why would you message them in the first place? They obviously put no effort forward so why should you? Just click next and respond to a profile that actually has content. Simple.
I’m afraid I’m getting catfished. This guy I just hit up is too perfect looking. His bio is vague so I messaged him and mocked him for it but he actually can hold a conversation well. I ended up giving him my number since we agreed to get drinks next week. He asked if he could call after texting and bullshitting for a bit and we had a pretty good 40 minute conversation about a bunch of stuff. He doesn’t seem interested in pushing anything— not even a hook up.
He explained his choice to use vague bio information and it’s nothing crazy; it made sense. But I’m cautious af. He claims he’s been catfished twice so we shall see.
But yeah. A guy looking like this one does… WHY ARE YOU ON THIS APP?! But he claims he just wants to meet new people and I’m the exact same way so it’s not a stretch. God, wish me luck. We’re going to a very public area and meeting separately and I carry a knife.

I used to try tk come up with something witty to say to people. But with girls who have this in their profile are most likely just using online dating as an ego boost
I have tried something along the lines of you said ask so I’m asking. I never got a response. Thing is my psychic abilities aren’t what they used to be.
Ask something. It’s not that hard.
I always ask, « What are you passionate about? » It gives them a chance to have a genuine conversation about something they love or show me that they probably have no idea.
this situation is easily remedied. stop right swiping or giving attention to these sort of people, and start right swiping and engaging with people who actually put the effort in their profile.

if you find that the people who do fill out their profiles are not attractive enough, then you probably have high standards. majority of the people on dating apps fall under average. waiting out or right swiping on what you think is a unicorn is probably not going to yield the results that you want.
