Sadly there are a lot of those on there. I think they are going for shock factor. I block them and move on. I have met a couple really nice people on there but it takes a LOT of wading through those ⬆️. It can get very frustrating.

There are creeps on all the apps (male and female). On POF you just realize it more because it’s still free range messaging. It’s part of the deal with this particular app. I just block and report them as they come up. It’s all you can do if you don’t want to dump the app altogether.
