POF : Now that POF has a number verification feature…..

Do you think that bots can still get through that. I am currently talking to someone where their words just do not match who they are in their pictures. Like maybe they are from another country pretending to be someone from here in the US.

  1. I’ve noticed lately that I’ve had ZERO of the fake « Hey there 🙂  » messages and haven’t seen any obvious spam accounts when I do a search. But I’m sure the spammers will do what they can to get around the phone verification. Spammers used to get around the phone verification on Craigslist all the time.

At least it’s a step in the right direction!

That being said, I am currently talking to someone that has their location set to my city/state, but is « currently in Argentina on family business and will return in a few months. » So far she seems legit, but it also sounds a little fishy.

  2. Had one today, but it has stemmed the tide.

It does present a new problem, when people get banned their phone will be blacklisted too, since hand result from blocks, and women tend to block any man they don’t want to talk to, men will get driven off the site and not be able to get back on, before it just required an i.p change, now you have to spoof a phone number to get an sms, and most of the online solutions to that do not work.
