POF : recently made a profile after being off of POF for yrs and have some questions…
1: I noticed that in profiles it don’t say there preferences like if there gay etc.. Has that always been that way? I don’t remember sadly been like 2 or so yrs since i been on pof.
2: since i have seeking for « men » will who i see on my home page am i right to assume that there seeking same thing? I’m assuming so..
3: Any obvious and unobvious sings of a bot/scammer? I kind of can tell when they message me but im not too good at telling via there profile.. some i remember looked legit.

I’m pretty sure it says on a users profile which gender they are interested in so that should be enough to tell you if they are straight or gay. I think the search engines works well enough to match you with people seeking the same as you, use the filters to be sure. As for bots, their profiles are either too well made or too badly made. The fake womens profiles usually have photos(there will almost always be more than 1, give them that at least)that are model material and the bio says something like « I love gaming, cars and beer. Looking for a nerdy guy to have fun with », meaning just about any guy will feel they have something in common and a chance with their dream bot. If you end up messaging you’ll catch on quickly anyway I’m sure but look for words that sound American if you aren’t from American, they like to use American slang. Also « baby » and « honey » early on. Like who the fuck calls a stranger baby right away nowadays? It’s cringy af.
