POF : Tips & Tricks to spotting fakes?

POF : Tips & Tricks to spotting fakes?

I’m trying to figure out which women are genuine accounts (Who like me) & which are just catfishes / bots.

I already know how the bots / scammers work so I’m not asking for anything in regards to that, the moment they put « Fuck me » and a link , I bounce.

So my question is there a way to find the fakes before you waste a like? & what is up with the accounts that like you, but never say anything? I’m also half-halfing on accounts that have 4-6 photos, but near nothing in their profile.

  1. Write and send the word « potato ». A bot will respond with some nonsense and not acknowledge it. A human will have a reaction.

Someone that comes on really strong, claims to want to meet their soulmate, saying love will find a way despite the distance, etc., within hours of matching is usually a fake.

They ask you to get off the app and use WhatsApp or Kik, or Hangouts right away. That is a scammer. A real person interested in you will eventually ask if it’s ok to text or give you their number.

They say they are in the military or about to deploy. They are studying abroad.

Oh, they’re about to move across the country right near to where you live.

They can’t video chat or talk on the phone cuz reception is bad or no wifi.

Their grammar is not typical of someone who has lived in the US. They say things like, « I would like to become knowledgeable about you and gain interest. »

  2. I’m real and on POF for dating and I get called a whore/bot all the time. Lots of fuck yous and what not.

So my point is I don’t think you can tell, cause it’s hella rude sending me those messages when I’m really on there to find my person. Why not just skip me if you think I’m on there to sell nudes? No clue.

  3. Doesn’t matter if it’s fake … if you don’t trust it, don’t engage with it, don’t try to communicate.

You shouldn’t hang out with people you don’t trust, either, so again, it doesn’t matter if they are fake or real if you don’t trust them.

  4. reverse image search every picture, jump around to different locations as well to browse and see pictures.

People will use girls that popped up in murders and other crimes, copy other peoples profiles, steal pictures off facebook. Also paying for caller id can be worthwhile. talking to a girl claiming to be named Jenny but her name is popping up as a Mike Mikerson?

I dont bother with it much anymore as the area i moved to a couple years back has a lot of girls catfishing.
