POF : What’s with all the restrictions lately?
I’ve had some minor success with dating on POF in the past but for the last few months, every time I go to message someone, a prompt pops up telling me that I need to be an upgraded member to message that person or this person isn’t excepting messages from my country! I live in freaking Texas for Christ sake! Surely this is a ploy to get me to upgrade. I just wonder if the people I’m trying to message know that they are part of this marketing scheme and some potentially promising suitors cant contact them!

A lot of people told me also when they tried to message me that it said that. I however was not upgraded and didn’t have a setting that made that the case. It wasn’t all people that it told that just some. So I think it’s an algorithm that picks people they think will pay it to talk to that person. I had 3 guys tell me they upgraded just to talk to me. I think it’s BS.
Ya I have had this message pop up a good 10 times since I returned this last week. I can use the meet me feature, we can both swipe on each other and most of them I can’t message. The business side of me tells me this is them capitalizing on lonely people over the holidays to make some money and get you to use your Christmas money to message people.
