Tinder : 28 people already liked you? Really?

Tinder : 28 people already liked you? Really?

So, I’m a guy on Tinder and I just started a few days ago. In the first day or so, I got a couple of matches and there was the number of people that already liked me. The number of people that already liked me steadily increased over the course of the first day and a half or so, but then stopped at 28. So, it says 28 people already liked you, but now it basically stopped. Additionally, I have not gotten any matches since those first two. Looks to me that they have stopped showing my profile to people temporarily in effort to get me to buy this Tinder Gold. Is this pretty common?
