Dating : He is the sky

h2>Dating : He is the sky

Cat Kelso

Often I see you like a never ending sky. Huge and wide, beautiful and expanding, whole and never ending. But I can only see the smallest fragment. An isolated sliver of the universe, that warms me gently in the days and leaves me to the bitter cold every night.

Even when I want to escape the blue, shut myself inside and smother the sun, the sky will still always be there hovering over me, longing to be looked upon and never to be touched.

It’s a lonely life to love the sky. As it shifts and changes and turns away and I am never fast enough to reach up for it and tug it down by the corners, to wrap it around my shoulders and give me comfort.

I cannot chase the horizon anymore. I cannot watch my heart sink with every sunset and weep gently with the new dawn. I cannot watch you arch up and above and away from me for eternity.

The sky is selfish, it tears away and hides, runs from the horizon and takes the light with it when you need it the most. It covers you with clouds just to spite you and sends down the rain to drown out the sounds of your sorrow.

You are very much like the sky.
