Momentary
The cat slipped out the old wooden door, quite under his feet. Within moments it pounced on a mourning dove, killing it in but moments. A dove which was to land by a young boys window and inspire him to create a new form of flight as a man. The wings would mimic a dove in pliability. The hull much like the breast of a bird. This jet was to inspire another young man to write a poem on flight as a metaphor for freedom. This poem was to fall into the teachers hands where she would read it to her social studies class.
This was to inspire a young girl to lead a march on Washington for the rights of minorities. Saved was a Carolina Wren, much near the dove who drew the cats attention. It took flight and a young woman captured it with a telephoto lens.
The photo made a national syndicate in the newspaper. It funded her love of pollinator gardens and helped support a movement in the Michocan Mountains in Mexico where the butterflies migrated. The cartels stopped logging it and the local villages began to thrive with business and built schools.
The Wren headed up through the blue, blue, blue and landed by an open window. Sketching the bird was a thin man. Later it would become a prototype for a new type of jet. The pliable wings, the sleek hull. His daughter, a poet noted it.
