POF : No luck
I’ve been on POF off and on for about 4 years and in that time I’ve went on four dates. What am I doing wrong? I even tried messaging every guy who’s profile I looked at and they rarely respond. I honestly don’t know what I’m doing wrong! It’s been about a month that ive been back this time and no one messages me and if they do things will be going great for a few days then they just ghost me.

I notice there are some people who try to look for their ideal mate, having to fit in this little perfect box, you have to check off all their ideal preferences, otherwise they look past you. There are also guys who are confused and think you are a bot because you message first. Honestly, people are getting exhausted of being rejected left and right from the sea of faces POF offers, thinking you will be the same as the other failed attempts a love
I can explain the ghost thing: the illusion of too many options, the grass is greener. « yea you seem cool (but that girl in the profile next to yours seems great too). I am not looking for anything serious right now (I might have a shot with someone else on here and keeping my options open in case someone better talks to me) » <— this happens constantly. I learned to read through the lines. No one wants to stick with one person for more than a week, because someone else logs on and looks interesting too.
It really depends, what are you messaging 1st? A simple Hi to a guy (talking as a guy) would get a reply. A few questions may not get a reply.
Depending on the guys you mesaage, if they are better looking then me, they would be messaging more woman and probably getting more replies so may not reply to everyone, kind of a reverse woman syndrome where they get 100’s of mesaages a day.
As a guy who normally gets 1 or 2 replies to every 20 messages, all I can suggest is keep going, keep plugging away and someone will be there for you.
A date a year isnt bad for that deadass platform tbf.
