POF : Surprised how few people are on POF
With about 3 million people in my area, I’m surprised at how few women are on the site. My demo is roughly 25-40. After reading recently that about 40% of daters meet online, I wonder where all these people are. I only have a couple of filters. There’s about 200 profiles near me on POF. OKCupid has about 20 profiles. Is there something I’m missing? is everyone on Tinder?

So this isn’t true. There are TONS of people on POF – the issue is that the app is restrictive in the number of people you can actually ever see.
For example: If you do a « search » you will find x number of people max. But if you do the swiping thing (« Meet me ») you will suddenly see a bunch of people that were totally within your initial search parameters but just didn’t appear. So « meet me » is how you can start seeing additional people.
Yes there’s TONS of bots. And yes they are driving people away. But there are still tons of people on POF.
The best thing to do is do the « meet me » thing and then ‘favorite’ anyone who stands out to you. Also, sometimes you can find new people using the « nearby » thing as well. Hope this helps!
You’ll find women have a higher tendency to keep their profile hidden or without images more so than men. They can still browse and use all the features without getting their mailboxes flooded.
The bots are driving people away. That is nut thought
Facebook, Hinge, Bumble, maybe Tinder. Stopped using POF cause of the bots and lack of people in my area as well.
