Dating : Finally feeling I’ve come to a point since my last LTR to pursue it again. Story of meeting the girl I recently started seeing.
I’ve always been more inclined to seeing and dating older women, my history of serious relationships reflects the opposite though. I’ve been single for about 1 1/2yrs now and I feel ready in myself to start dating again.
Now on the reason I’m posting here. I’ve been living in my apartment in a 4plex almost a year now, the other downstairs tenant I had only ever seen in passing until about 4 months ago. The first time we met and actually talked we sat on my porch and talked for almost 3 hours. I had always thought she was really cute in passing but after talking I realized she was so much more. I travel for work frequently and don’t have anyone to watch my house while I’m gone, so I asked her if she would be willing to keep an eye out for me while I was away for work in exchange for some beer on me when I returned. This happened a few times, we also went out to dinner as friends and shared a few nights of porch beer and talking. Eventually I worked up the courage to ask her over for a homemade meal and she obliged, she took it as just another friendly neighbor get together though. A few weeks went by and I asked her on a date after we went out for drinks one night. She said yes and that she was wondering if I’d ever ask. (Face meet palm) I didn’t hear from her for a week or so and reached out to see when a good time for her would be, she explained that she wasn’t sure if i was looking for the same thing she was and that she would like to just keep it as friends for the time being, I said ok and we went about as it had been. I would rather keep this woman as a friend than make an ass of myself and ruin our friendship and kill our good neighbor relationship. A few weeks after that I met her for a couple beers to celebrate her moving into a new place. We talked for hours, no phones or anything, just us, good beer and a great summer evening. I walked her to her car and we talked more, we have a had time breaking conversation and actually leaving every time. She gave me a hug as usual but this one was longer and deeper than the others, so I asked her out again. She didn’t even say yes, instead just asking where I was taking her. This was about 3 weeks or so ago, she’s a night nurse and I’m a farmer so it’s a bit difficult with our schedules. We have managed to see each other a few times since though. A few nights ago we met for a local beer event, once again talking for hours, no phones just enjoying our time together. She tends to find an excuse to touch my arm or leg occasionally while we talk, this time though she kept grabbing for my hand. She had picked me up on her way through town and at the end of the evening when the tap house closed we walked to her car, at this point i had thought about kissing this girl so many times. As we get to her car and split paths to get inside, I stop and grab her hand. She turns and looks to me almost confused until I step in and kiss her. Holy shit, the 4th of July came a day early this year on that night between us. The sparks and fireworks of last night were nothing compared to what happened in the middle of the street under those lights the night before last. We went to my house and she needed a glass of water. We get out of the car and she ran out and jumped up on me to kiss me again. We go inside and get her some water and before she left instead of being hindered by conversation we were slowed down by not wanting let go of the other. After multiple goodbyes we finally gave each other one last kiss before she left.
I’m kind of intimidated by how much this girl gives me butterflies, I’ve had my loves in life but this is an all new feeling to me. I’m excited to see where this goes and for our first actual date next weekend.
