Dating : Am I a lazy dater?

Dating : Am I a lazy dater?

26 (M) and living in LA. I haven’t had a relationship in about 7 years. A couple hookups that were off and on during college, but nothing really serious. I have a great job and a good work life. During the weekends though I am starting to feel a little lonely. I never really figured out the dating thing or even the first step. How do you find people to date?

Fellow people of the internet: Where do you find your dating partners?!?!

What do you think?

  1. The laziest daters make a bunch of profiles on apps like Tinder, Bumble, OkCupid, etc.

The proactive daters make an effort to be social in real life, go to events and meetups, actually talk to and engage with people, and make friends.

Personally, I found my partner by playing an online game, but for people who take dating seriously, which I didn’t of course, I wouldn’t recommend taking a similar path.

  2. Honestly just keep an open mind. When you’re hanging out in real life, try to make connections with people, meet friends of friends, join some clubs and stuff. Online dating apps are okay to meet new people but most of the time, nothing serious ever really comes out of it. I found mine on a facebook group for fans of this particular band and similar bands of that genre. I feel as though serious dating matches come out of random interactions like that, rather than through some impersonal dating app where everyone’s just super focused on playing « games ».
