I don’t particularly find it becoming or emotionally mature. However I do see why some people may do it in regards to their safety. With that aside is there a “respectable” timeframe to which you should be upfront about your lack of interest. Like sure maybe there is a grace period if only messaging for a week. How about after a month or several dates etc? Also curious to see if the answers will vary Man to woman.

  1. I’d say only if they were extremely disrespectful. Otherwise, just be honest with them about how you feel. It sucks being left hanging not knowing what you did wrong or why they stopped talking to you.

  2. Problem is the term ghosting is overused. If you didn’t have a date planned then I don’t consider it ghosting. Stopping a *conversation* after a handful of messages isn’t ghosting.
