Dating : How can the « the chemistry » only be there for one of the two dating?

So my question is the title.
I was dating a person who was interesting, had same goals and dreams as I, but a few things were quite off for me such as communication and sex.
The chemistry didn’t feel quite there, felt more like friends.

I broke it off to avoid wasting both of our time, but he didn’t feel these things at all. I don’t understand how awkwardness/the issues could be so one-sided, only for my part?

I didn’t try this before. With others the events that had happened both could relate to.

  1. « Chemistry » is female codeword for attraction, as is « spark ». While it sounds like a magical thing going on between two people, it is much simpler…it’s regular attraction which can be one-sided.
