Dating : How long do you text before the first date typically?
Curious what people here consider a good amount of text banter before the first date… a week? Do you text all day and night then slow it down before the date, etc? Have you noticed more success if you talk a lot before the first day, or if you save the convo for the date? Guess I mean specifically with someone you met on OLD.
Depends on how well you know the person. Personally, I spend the first week texting a moderate amount, then move to texting and phone call (or facetime). If I feel like I’ve know enough about them I ask them out after two weeks but i am for month because I want to truly get to know the woman to see if I’m truly interested.
I’ve had the best experiences when I would meet up quickly and not text much. I’ve learnt that if you take longer than 2 weeks to meet up things don’t usually go as well and others have entered the picture at this point so the new toy ain’t so new anymore

The older I got the faster I seemed to throw the « let’s grab coffee sometime ». So I’ve been doing it after a couple of texts. I don’t really like texting so much only for the first date to end with no chemistry or awkward. Just get it done with so that you don’t feel like you wasted your time after all the texting.
I generally prefer to keep the texting to a minimum before the first date unless there is a strong connection already. I’ll arrange a date within the OLD app then exchange numbers and usually only text to confirm the date and details.
Personally I like to text for a bit (a week or so) before meeting someone. I feel like I can tell a lot about a person through texting and have a pretty good feeling on whether I actually want to meet them or not.
