Dating : Old crush keeps contacting me
I’m very confused.
We dated for a bit, then he went cold and started becoming distant. We got along pretty great, had a lot of stuff in common. Long story short I ruined it because I was getting frustrated with his actions, I told him I liked him and he kinda just brushed it off as nothing. It’s been months since we’ve last talked and it didn’t end well (because of me wanting more). Fast forward 4 months, in the past couple of weeks he’s been commenting/reacting on my different social medias and texting me randomly. The conversions are never seriously, mainly just witty banter back and forth. I just don’t understand why now? After he completely ghosted me. I truly liked him and he didn’t care. I know I’m overthinking everything, but hey, that’s why I’m here. My overall assumption is he’s bored and just wants the attention. What’re your opinions?

I honestly think he is just wanting someone to chat with. If the conversations are very bland, then there is your answer. There is a chance he might ghost you again, so don’t let your heart get involved this time.
If you want to keep this banter going, then by all means go!
However, if you want it to stop or you are absolutely dying to know, simply ask him. « Hey, I haven’t heard from you since I said that I liked you, and now you are texting me. What’s up? » He should hopefully give you an answer, but be prepared that it might not be the answer you are hoping for (and ghosting might occur).
