Dating : On Second Date, Girl revealed that she had bipolar disorder

Is this a dealbreaker for most people? I don’t know what this entails and I’m frightened. I like her personality a lot but I’m not in a good place for high emotional turmoil.

  1. If she’s medication compliant and is on the right meds, she could very likely be more stable than most people.

If she’s not being medically treated, or only takes her meds sometimes, i would pass her by unless you want a relationship that will take a lot of extra work.

Source : I’m BP & BPD. Fully med-compliant and in remission for +/- 10 years.

  2. Depends on how severe it is and if she’s on medications for it. You should look into it if you’re into this girl. My brother is bipolar and it’s very severe, but he’s on meds and you could never even tell. Some people have it very mild and don’t need to go on meds / can choose not to but just know that they’ll be having mood cycles that are not your fault. Honestly if it’s mild it might be similar to PMS, which you have to deal with dating girls anyway

  3. She was diagnosed by an actual doctor? Is she making excuses for her actions? A lot of women pms some more than others and act really bitter and cruel during that time. So she might be referring to that.
