Dating : Such a problem?

Dating : Such a problem?

So I recently moved to Ohio from North Carolina, barely know anyone. Start working at this place, and a few months later, another girl starts. I instantly had a crush on her, and thought it would be cool if I could get with her. Turns out she also had a crush on me too, but knowing my luck I knew nothing would happen so I just developed a friendship with her. Fast forward 6 months, we finally start talking a lot, and I spend a lot of time at her place, and we do things, that some relationships don’t even reach. While drunk, I accidentally blurted out that I loved her, and she said, no don’t say that, so I apologize, and we just keep chilling. We are fine for a while, and we just started talking about some of the trauma she went through. I respect all of it, but she keeps bringing up that I said that, and states it as if it’s some sort of roadblock. Did I do something terribly wrong?

Not really….but people don’t really want to hear « I love you » from a drunk person. The person will wonder how you got there…whether its serious or warranted.

Before declaring your love…did you guys talk about anything deeper than friendship? Did anything else ever come up? When you declared your love for her, was it super out of the blue and random? If it was, thats pretty jarring. This is why relying on alcohol to be honest and up front can be a bad strategy.
