It lasted six months and it was thrilling. The secret aspect makes it more exhilarating. Once it was brought to light, we both lost interest lol. I’ve heard this is typical of secret relationships.
I thought about being in one with a friend, but the cons outweighed the pros so I decided to keep my boundaries and try not to go there.
Reason having to possibly hide it is because he is a close friends’ relative who I’ve connected to our social group. I am very close to my friends’ family and it would be an absolute mess if it ended and have hurt each other.
My friendship to that family is a lot more important to me than possible romance. 🙁
I was in one that ended up lasting a little under two years. I wouldn’t recommend it… our close friends knew we were dating but we hid it from others in our network and it was hard to do after a while.
In the beginning was fun and exciting. It was our little secret. But at a certain point, I would want to post a pic of something we did or people (who know both of us) would ask what I did for the weekend, and I found that I couldn’t be completely honest to them. I felt like I was lying to everyone by disclosing information.
Eventually (like a year or so into the relationship) I wanted to go “public” with our relationship but he didn’t want to.. we ended up breaking up later because he moved out of state.
