Dating : Why are women so damn picky online?

Dating : Why are women so damn picky online?

I started talking to this one girl near my area. She only asked how old I was, “I’m 23” I replied and she literally said “I only talk to 24 yr olds bye” just like that she blocked me on the spot. I just find it extremely hypocritical how a lot of these people claim they want someone special In their lives when they won’t even bother talking to someone who’s literally a year younger or older than them without even getting them a proper chance to shoot their shot. I Get that a lot of guys are really creepy online (especially with the unnecessary dick pics.) but you’re not doing yourself any favors by adding a ridiculous strict set of rules that no one in their right mind would diligently follow. Examples being: (specific height, age, finances, cars, appearance, skin color, etc.) if you’re willing to date someone then you gotta get out of your comfort zone to do so.

  1. I think any preference is legitimate no matter how petty. But I think it’s stupid when one’s preferences are pointlessly arbitrary and interfere with compatibility.

It’s like how a person might want a specific type of person and then date someone different because they’re hot. Nothing wrong with wanting a specific personality or someone hot, but it’s dumb that that trumped all other preferences.

  2. If shes blowing you off because you’re one year younger you’re better off without her.
We arent in high school anymore.
Consider yourself lucky. You dodged yourself a bullet.
That being said, people have their preferences and you need to respect that. Yes sometimes it’s incredibly rude and uncalled for but if that’s what people like then so be it.
Just keep your head up, you’ll find someone.

  3. While I agree that it’s very nitpicky and arbitrary to have strict cutoffs, if that’s what they want, there’s no changing their mind. And really, would you want someone that superficial and petty? No loss on your part I’d say by “losing” her.

  4. I get where you are coming from, but I also respect that attitude. She knows what she wants and tries not to waste anyone’s time when she realizes they are not it.

  5. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having any of the preferences/requirements you listed, so long as the person is not being rude about it. I think the way she came across there was rather tactless, but she and everyone is allowed to set standards for what they want in a potential date, no matter how asinine or arbitrary it may seem. You’re forgetting to that for many women and some men, it’s easy to become overwhelmed with the options available. Gotta whiddle them down and out somehow.

I personally wouldn’t want to date someone younger than me, as I’m generally attracted to men older than me.

  6. Girls get way too many options, thus they can be very picky. Especially if they’re hot.

Good looking guys right swipe everyone and can still get a fraction of the matches an average chick gets.

Testosterone makes guys very thirsty and will obviously right swipe more than girls.
