Dating : Dating a divorced woman with a kid?

What do you think about divorced women with a kid? My friend is staying in a loveless marriage exclusively because of the kid. She is scared that if she divorces her status and the fact that she has a kid will prevent her from finding someone.

Would you date a divorced woman with a 3 year old kid? And what is a legit reason for divorce in your opinion?

Thank you!

Edit: If a woman is divorced due to her husbands infidelity, would you think that there was something wrong with this woman or would you assume that husband was just a jerk?

  1. I would not date a woman with a 3 year old. You wont be a priority for her and she wont have much time to do anything as baby sitters are expensive.

  2. I’m absolutely crazy about a divorced woman with a kid. I have no kids of my own. If you love someone you will make the time to fit their schedule and figure out a way to make it work. In my case I’d do anything for her or her son.

  3. > What do you think about divorced women with a kid?

    No issues at all.

    > She is scared that if she divorces her status and the fact that she has a kid will prevent her from finding someone.

It’ll narrow down the possibilities a bit, not nearly enough that it would be noticeable for her.

    > Would you date a divorced woman with a 3 year old kid?

    Yup, done so before

    > And what is a legit reason for divorce in your opinion?

That’s a really fucking broad question lol All the usuals to do with infidelity. Loveless marriage (though this could be turned around if both parties put enough effort in) where one party doesn’t want to work on it.

  4. > Would you date a divorced woman with a 3 year old kid?

No. They bring nothing to the table that a childless person doesnt but bring several negatives, biggest being always be second to their child.

  5. Divorced woman with a 3 year old here! It has not hindered my ability to get and keep dates at all. It’s just a matter of separating those two parts of your life. Prior to the divorce, being a mommy felt like my only identity. Now, there is the single me and then the mommy me. I have done a little online dating, been approached by men and some single dads (with kid in tow at times). It’s all about the energy you put out there! I’m 32 by the way so depending on the age your friend is looking to date, the experience may be different. I date 32 and up only.

  6. 1. not wanting to be married to someone anymore, for whatever reason, is a valid reason to divorce them. there doesn’t need to be infidelity or abuse or anything dramatic, sometimes people just don’t want to be together anymore and that’s fine.

    2. cheating on someone is a choice, the person who was cheated on isn’t at fault.

  7. Honestly, it seems like being divorced will have a slightly negative impact since it means that you have lived a life already and it’s often difficult to build from scratch. Having a kid in the equation makes the woman much less attractive because the kid complicates a lot of situations and the balancing act becomes that much harder. So yes, finding someone after the divorce I think will be harder, but not impossible; she might even end up in a situation where she might have to lower her standards. There are a lot of good reasons to get divorce, but there are also a lot of bad reasons to as well; we seem to live in a very throwaway culture in the west and people often doing put in the required effort. But on the other hands, it’s very important to get out of abusive relationships as quickly as possible.

  8. « would i date » would imply i have a choice when i dont

its not a preference i would opt for, but then not enough water has traveled under the dating bridge for me to comment on.

  9. If you are ready to be a father-figure / stepdad, then there’s nothing wrong with that.

Just understand that you have to accept some responsibilities that you otherwise wouldn’t.
