Dating : Dating in Modern Times

So, I’m 28 and been on a few dates this past month with women aged between 23-35. I’m not sure if this is an age thing, but people are just so caught up with online personalities, phones, egos, the Jones’ its driving me nuts.

Just want to go on a date where 2 people can have a decent conversation. Instead I get showed pictures of memes and « OMG my friend is in IBIZA, look at this cool snapchat », « lemme instagram this, snap that ». Spoke to my dad about it for advice and he said to hold out, but it just seems like this is the way the world is shifting. And I’m not one of those change the world dudes so not about to give up everything for this pursuit.

TL;DR
I hate social media and its disruption of real connections. Accept or search for unicorn? Wat do?

  1. I hate it too dawg, but it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Just laugh it off and listen to your old man. There’s a lady out there who is having this exact conversation somewhere in the dating world waiting to be found

  2. Go on a date in the park or the zoo. It’s hard for them to be on the phone if they are active. Or just keep going on dates and meet someone that wants a genuine connection.

  3. The bad news is that it’s true, most millenials are addicted to their phones…can’t blame them, they were born with one in their hand. The good news is that there are women out there who don’t like social media, don’t use it, and are not attached to their phones. You just gotta weed through all the bad ones until you find one good one. Also, you might consider finding a woman NOT on social media. Find them at local events, festivals, concerts, parties, museums, you know, places you would meet someone without needing a phone. And hey, we are all in the same boat here.
