Dating : Deleting tinder forever has 180’d my life [m30]
In my 20s I was this shy introvert who was scared to talk to people. Dating wasn’t even on my mind. Family members always commented on « how good looking I am »….but that’s family lol. I would just stay passive and play sports mostly.
Then tinder came out. I thought it was amazing. An easy way to tell girls you’re interested in the safety of your own home!
After months and months of not getting matches , I felt like a leper. I would always delete , and then come crawling back . After every right swipe and not matching was slowly killing me. I just felt like garbage…..but it’s like an addiction.
After a few tinder dates and getting ghosted , I just had enough. I decided to do things I truly enjoy. Music! I decided to attend an open mic at a bar near me. I became hooked and started doing it every week. Being on stage improved my confidence exponentially. I became more interesting, and great at talking with people. I started making lots of friends. Being good at something is great on the self esteem.
I also started meeting girls. and even THEY would ask me out on dates. And I mean these girls are cute. One even whispered in my ear « you’re fucking hot…don’t tell anyone 😉 »
Before I thought i was a hopeless chump, but it just turns out I suck at Internet dating. But if you’re good at taking pictures of yourself and picking up girls online, then keep doing it! It’s a relatively new dating tool that takes skill. Personally I’m hopeless in that department , and I’m sure I’m not alone.
If you’re being ignored online, just fucking delete it. Tinder is a good way to start being super depressed. Why live your life like that? Improving yourself, having fun, and doing what you love makes you attractive.
