Dating : Going an a date with a guy who was a pretentious jerk the last time I went on dates with him. Do I give him another shot?
Went on four dates with a guy I used to dorm with in college. We slept together twice and he seemed cool. He was into me and told me he really liked me on the last date and then didn’t answer me for a whole day after we were planning when to meet up next. We didn’t talk regularly outside of actual dates so I didn’t find it that alarming but I did end up double messaging and asked if everything was okay. Then he finally said something like “I’m so sorry but I’m not sure what I want and am not over the ex.. can I mail you your phone charger” that I left at his place which wasn’t even far. It was.. weird. And kind of disrespectful and really out of no where.
Anyways he reached out after 3 months and we chatted. He said he would like to get a coffee and catch up. He wants to go on a walk with me afterwards at this pond he knows I like.
I just don’t want to be used. I’m scared to date again but almost feel like maybe he doesn’t deserve another chance. I feel stupid and my friends are saying he treated me poorly and doesn’t deserve my time. I don’t have much value in myself so I’m not sure if I’m seeing this clearly. I kind of want to see if he’ll redeem himself.

The answer is you think he cute and there no other prospect around. I say go for it. I know some girls that sleep with guys that are not good for them. What ends up happening is they feel like shit after. The issue is your not looking for mr right with is fine. Just dont fool yourself, you already know how this will end…but u got nothing in the wind,

These people know you better than us and have warned you away from him. But if your self worth is so low that someone can treat you so coldly (the mailing of the charger is just really weird… like he could’ve dropped it off to you) and you’ll give them another chance, then hey, go for it.
Some kids just need to be told that the stove is hot and they won’t touch it. Other kids need to actually touch the stove before they learn.
Honestly, you don’t need to date anyone who treats you like that without a good reason why. It’s not as if you’re unattractive.

But then, if he’s attractive and seems cool, I guess that can outweigh these issues? But if you do go for him, just maybe don’t get your hopes up?

Why bother bringing up the past? If you like him for him get on with a friend/boyfriend relationship BUT with eyes wide open.
He just wants sex. You just want sex. It will depress you even more than you already are. You don’t know what love is anyways so you might as well enjoy never finding love.
