Dating : I (31F) finally got a second date! After none for years!
I just wanted to express my joy. See I’ve been online dating for over a year and been on at least half a dozen dates. Not a single one of those resulted in a second date. One guy even came to visit me from three hours away, then ghosted me. I couldn’t figure out what was so wrong with me. Another guy kissed me on the first date then abruptly cut things off before a second…. Sigh.
So I still don’t know what’s wrong with me, but at least one idiot (28M) wants to see me again.

Can I suggest it is the heat of the moment. For example, the guy drove 3 hours possibly because he had sexy plans in mind. When he realized far from it, he came to the realize ‘wtf am i doing with my life’.
Of course it can be simple disinterest such as your physican/mental looks but guys may have an issue with thinking with their weiner sometimes.
This is an anecdote but I think only 1 in 10 guys honestly want a relationship outside of sex atleast in the immediate. It takes a change of mind for a guy to stop seeking sex so they can go from putting sex as a priority to putting true friendship as a priority. Or not.

Congrats! That’s really exciting! Remember that dating isn’t a game and that all you can do is show up, be yourself and be respectful. Leave everything else up to chemistry, and hope they do the same.

Just want to say, if you’re having about one date every 2 months, you should expect none of these people to be a good match. It’s a numbers game. Half a dozen dates going nowhere says nothing about you except how few dates you are going on.

Dear OP, my heartiest congratulations to you. I feel you since I have been in the same boat. I have been doubting myself and thinking if something is wrong with me. I am 32 male for your reference. I realize that nothing is wrong with you. It’s just that the app dating culture sucks. Most of the time, the other person is intimidated. Believe me, you are as perfect as others can never be. I learnt that about myself and made peace with myself.
That being said, best of luck and I do hope you get a second one. If not, then you dodged a bullet.
