Dating : I’m smitten.
I (24f) have been seeing this guy (24m) for about 4 weeks now. We’ve had a couple of dates, but it will be a couple of weeks before the next one because of some stuff he has going on. We also live kind of far apart, which means we can’t see each other as much as I’d like.
But damn I really like him. He checks almost every box for me. I’ve never gotten past the fourth date in any relationship, and at this point I don’t know how to act. Should I text him every day? Should I tell him vulnerable things about me? He doesn’t seem as invested as me, which terrifies me. I think he wants me to calm down a bit but I don’t know how.
Because I’ve never had a relationship, I’m extremely desperate for really just anyone to like me. How do I curb this desperation and eagerness so I don’t scare this guy off?
Guys don’t tend to like “games” and would rather you be direct and honest (I’m a guy FYI). Especially as you get older in your twenties. If he’s a mature guy worth your time he’ll want you to be the real you – which means if you wanna text him every day, do it. Want to be vulnerable, do it. Be assertive, be you. If he likes you back the same way he will respond to it. Do you have a date set up in two weeks? If you do – try not to worry during the time in between because he likes you if he’s agreed to another date. That’s probably how he’s thinking about it – whatever he’s got going on during these weeks probably in his mind he’s looking forward to that and may be only able to focus on what he’s doing in the mean time. May not be a big texter. I know it’s hard not to but try not to take too seriously if he seems not as invested – he could be super into you. But the next date with him you can bring that up – maybe make a playful joke with him and be like “yeah you don’t text me ever jerk” haha idk
