Dating : Is it worth it? (M, 18)
I’ve known a girl from HS for sometime, we’ve talked quite a bit. I found her attractive initially, but my feelings deepend as time went on. I finally decided to muster up the courage to ask her to the movies a few days ago. I plan to use such time to understand her as she doesn’t show her true self in school and tell her things I’ve been feeling in regards to her. She responds with the following: « Yeah sure, sometime in the summer but I’ve been v busy lately ». Ok, I must say that it’s about 80% true she is/will be busy (finals b/c she’s still in school but I already graduated, summer extracurriculars). Also, she’s reciprocated similar feelings as I said I’ll miss her and she said the same since I’m going to college in the fall. I was surprised to hear how casually she responded to my invitation as I’ve never asked a girl on a date, yet the 2nd part of her response was what made me question things. Keep in mind that I responded to her response saying « Ok, that sounds fine » and she left me on read/opened for nearly 4 days. I haven’t bothered her since as it would probably turn her off, scare her away, or ruin my opportunity for the movie date with her. Am I just overthinking this whole thing, or is there something off?
If she’s not ready to date, and you want someone who is, I would say she’s not on your list of « possibles ».
Just tell her next time she messaged you hey nice to hear from you we should catch up when are you free and schedule a date. If she gets back to you good if not keep on chucking
