Dating : Looking for self improvement and dating advice

hopefully this is the right place to post this but i was curious if anyone had any good pointers on how to meet women and find a relationship. The advice is for myself ( M28)

I have tried online dating with some very rare success in the past. it just seems like i cant get my foot in the door when it comes to dating. I have plenty of confidence i know i am a smart decent guy. My online pictures that i use are all pretty modest. No shirtless pictures or unshaved, unclean looking pictures. i try to include a few of myself in different actives just having fun. When i message women i send thoughtful messages not just hey whats up. I try to ask them questions about things found in their profile like if they say they are a music lover i ask what kind of music do they enjoy.

I tried online dating because i suck at approaching women offline. Even when i start up conversations it always feels so weird to be ask them out. i am going to a university so maybe that opens up some unique ways to meet women?

Before it gets brought up This post is in no way designed to be a rant or a complaint that no one will ever want me. Its not that no one wants me, i just suck at meeting people and am looking for any advice people have to offer. due to events beyond my control i never really learned how to navigate dating all that well.

Any advice is welcome. Ill even take good ice breaker questions to use if you got them
