Dating : My experience the past year
I 27(m) over the last year have decided to share my dating experience over the last year. But a little bit about myself first. I’ve never been in a serious relationship. I had one that lasted for a few months, but she never had any interest in me and I was just there for a place for her to stay. It was also a very abusive relationship. So I have little to no experience with dating.
If you met me a year ago I was a mess. I was overweight, lonely, and depressed. I never learned much about dating when I was younger or how to make myself more appealing. I decided it was time to change all that so I enrolled myself in a gym that I went to everyday. I lost a significant amount of weight. I started going to therapy to deal with some issues (I was an abused child.) I started dressing better and taking better care of myself. I started getting out more and picking up new hobbies. Also reading a lot of what’s posted here and other places.
So to breakdown my last year is that nothing improved for me when it came to dating. I haven’t been on a single date or even had anyone show any interest. And trust me it isn’t for a lack of trying. Don’t get me started on online dating. That was a lot of wasted effort and I never got a single reply and I put effort into my messages. It wasn’t copy and paste like my more successful friends do. So avoid that unless you want your soul crushed or are a perfect 10 I suggest avoiding it. The only thing I’ve learned is that people only care if you have money or are attractive.
So basically what I’ve come to the conclusion of is that this past year has ruined any kind of confidence I could possibly muster and that I really like playing disc golf and running. Also that women don’t find 5’5 guys who are balding (I keep my hair super short) attractive no matter what you do.
