Dating : Need some advice
I [17 m] am considerably wealthier than my girlfriend [16 F]. Well it’s our family’s money but you know. I always drive to her to pick her up because she can’t drive yet and her parents work all day. My mom recently told me that she doesn’t love spending all this gas Money (she lives 45 min away) and wants me to ask if her parents can drive sometimes. When I asked her this she got really upset and started crying and said she feels embarrassed all the time and wishes she were white and privileged (she’s Hispanic). Then she said I deserve someone who’s rich and lives close to me. I’m trying to reassure her that I only want her and she just tells me “it’s fine you clearly can’t understand” I don’t know what to do in this situation. Any advice helps!
She can’t ask her parents to drive sometimes. They can’t afford it.
That is what it means, and she feels humiliated.
