Dating : Should I wait for a second date or cut it off?

Hi,

I (25/F) went on a date last weekend with a guy (26/M) I met via online dating and it went really well. I really liked him, and I haven’t liked a guy this much in a long time. We talked for four hours straight, with no awkwardness and seemed to connect well. During the date, he told me he’s not a « good texter », and that kind of bothered me. We have been texting every day; however, he takes hours to respond, but when he does respond, he sends thoughtful paragraphs and asks questions. We also live kind of far away (1 hour) so we won’t get to see each other often so the regular texting is important to me. It has only been one date so I don’t feel like I should bring up how it is an issue because it’s so early on. We also haven’t planned a second date yet so I’m not sure if he’s just busy or not that interested. I also don’t want to waste both of our times because we live far. Should I just end it before we do decide to meet again or should I just wait for a second date and see how it goes?

Thanks!

  1. Why not calling him?
I also find hard to text. So I just call. Like texting takes waaaay more time and effort to make. With a call or a voice msj I can just be more efficient in my life

  2. The distance thing sounds like an issue, especially since he doesn’t like to text a lot (seems like it’s bothering you already).

I would probably find someone closer, or someone that likes to text as much as you do.

  3. Id break it off on the hour distance alone. Unless you live in a sparsely populated area theres gotta be closer and just as good if not better people around.

  4. Texting a lot isn’t a good thing to do while in the dating stage . I feel it comes across clingy which could scare him away . Especially for someone that doesn’t like to text .

  5. I don’t text much and I tell my date right at the start.

The way I see it I’m just really busy and I don’t need to talk to someone often through text if I’m with my friend co workers family or doing other work.

I would personally wait until the second date. He seems like he likes you and you like him so just see him in person and bring it up
